Another 49 homemade masks headed from our home out to essential and healthcare groups this afternoon. These are for Community Living in the downtown area; this group provides support to individuals with intellectual disability, and to their families. This delivery brings our family’s count of masks to over 200!! (217 to be exact).
We made these masks as part of The Sewing Army @sewingarmy , an amazing volunteer group headed by @dianacoatsworthdesign, making masks/scrub caps/gowns for healthcare and other essential workers in Canada (and some US presence). The fabric for the ties were purchased through financial donations to the Army; the fabrics for these masks are from my stash (most sewists have one ). The CAA has stepped up to deliver masks from makers to orgs, and the wonderful Army pickup coordinator and I now have gotten into a groove with arranging pickups.
Keep on keepin’ on; all you can do.
