My first set of handmade scrub caps went off today! 20 caps to Sunnybrook Hospital (thank you CAA for the delivery!). Made as part of my volunteer efforts with @sewingarmy, which makes masks, caps and gowns for healthcare providers and other essential workers.
Fabrics a mix from my stash (finally running low… at least in the wovens ) and those donated to the group. The blue fabric was so soft to the touch….
Caps are definitely more painstaking to make than the masks because the bottom and sides need to be folded over twice and sewn, and it’s a long edge. Caps protect healthcare providers’ hair from getting contaminated by aerosolized CoV-2. The buttons are “ear-savers”, used to hook elastics from PPE to avoid chaffing the ears over 12+ hour shifts, day after day.
Many more orders to go, but they are all made with LOVE. Our healthcare providers deserve better than this.
